ONE TO WATCHAlready linked with some of Europes biggest clubs, Real Sociedad right-back Alvaro Odriozola will be hoping to show off his talents in Russia. The 22-year-old has serious competition for his position as Dani Carvajal is the guaranteed first-choice, but a hamstring injury suffered by the Real Madrid star could mean he links up with the Spain squad when not fully fit.If that is the case, Odriozola will have the pre-tournament friendlies to try and establish himself in Lopeteguis plans and add to his two caps.A typical modern full-back, Odriozola started his career on the wing before being pushed back into defence, and it shows as he loves to get forward and support the attack whenever given the chance; he grabbed an assist on his Spain debut by setting up Thiago Alcantara for a goal against Albania.Manchester United have been credited with interest in Odriozola, while Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to have scouted the right-back who has a £40m release clause written into his Sociedad contract.FIXTURESFriday, June 15: PORTUGAL v Spain (Fisht Olympic Stadium, Sochi) – kick-off 19:00Wednesday, June 20: IRAN v Spain (Kazan Arena, Kazan) – kick-off 19:00Monday, June 25: Spain v MOROCCO (Kaliningrad Stadium, Kaliningrad) – kick-off 19:00KITS RECORD IN QUALIFYINGSpain were perhaps the most dominant team in European qualifying, ending five points clear of Italy at the top of Group G. They scored 36 goals in their 10 matches and conceded just three – their two games against Liechtenstein both ended 8-0 – and the only time they dropped points was when they visited Italy on matchday two and played out a 1-1 draw.Diego Costa, Isco and David Silva all finished with five goals to finish joint top of Spains scoring charts, and a 3-0 destruction of Italy was the best performance by any nation throughout the entire European qualification campaign.TOURNAMENT PREPARATIONSBefore getting their World Cup campaign underway, Spain played two friendly matches. The first was against Switzerland on June 3 in Villarreal, which they drew 1-1, and the second was scheduled for six days later in Krasnodar, the city in which Spains base camp is located. They faced England’s Group G opponents Tunisia and ran out 1-0 winners.BASE CAMPFC Krasnodar Academy, KrasnodarPROBABLE LINE-UPtalkSPORT will be with listeners all day and all night at this year’s 2018 FIFA World Cup with over 800 hours of World Cup content and all 64 games live across the talkSPORT network. 4 Spain take part in their 15th World Cup this summer. talkSPORT.com takes an in-depth look at the Group B nation.MANAGERJulen Lopetegui was remarkably replaced on the eve of the World Cup after agreeing a deal to take charge of Real Madrid. Spain won 14 of their 20 games with Lopetegui in charge, drawing the other six, but the Spanish Football Federation were furious over when and how negotiations with Real took place and took the decision to sack him just days before they kick off their campaign against Portugal. Fernando Hierro, formerly of Real Madrid and Bolton, has moved from his role as Spain’s director of football to lead the team at the World Cup. His only experience as a manager was a brief spell in charge of Real Oviedo.CAPTAINOne of the best defenders of his generation, Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos will wear the armband for Spain in Russia. A veteran of 151 international caps and over 600 domestic matches, the 32-year-old is one of the most decorated footballers in the world, having claimed a wealth of silverware playing at both club and international level. As captain, Ramos has to deal with the fractures that may potentially exist in Lopeteguis squad. The pro-Catalan independence Barcelona players and the rest of the squad must be brought together ahead of the tournament to ensure Spain play to the best of their ability. Ramos centre-back partner Gerard Pique is one of the most pro-independence members of the squad, and their relationship will signal to the rest of the players how to deal with differing political stances.KEY PLAYERThere are a number of goalscorers in Spains squad, but finding a reliable striker has been hard since the 2014 World Cup. Alvaro Morata was left out of the squad, meaning Diego Costa will likely lead the line for La Roja.Costa has finally established himself as an important player for Spain having struggled following the change of his international allegiance in 2013. He was their joint top scorer in qualifying, with five goals in five games, and he has netted seven times for Atletico Madrid since joining them in January. One of the hardest strikers in the world to defend against, Costa brings a consistent goal threat to Spain, and hell also alleviate the pressure on the attacking midfield players such as Isco, David Silva and Andres Iniesta, allowing them more time and space to express themselves in the final third. 4

Stauskas Popcorn Every year, NBA veterans like to haze rookies a bit, and one of the more popular moves is to “popcorn” a player’s car. Dion Waiters, who now plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder but was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers, received one of the worst in history, if you remember. But this week, former Michigan star Nik Stauskas, who plays for the Sacramento Kings, came home to an even bigger surprise. He doesn’t have a car right now, so instead, his teammates popcorned his house. Stauskas posted a video of the damage. It’s significant.Stauskas averaged 4.2 points per game in 15.2 minutes per contest this year. He’s expected to have a bigger role in 2015-2016.

If they were to win, they would have to play against either Sweden or Switzerland.Crouch: Liverpool could beat Man United to Jadon Sancho Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Peter Crouch wouldn’t be surprised to see Jadon Sancho end up at Liverpool one day instead of his long-term pursuers Manchester United.“For us, it is game by game, and see where it takes us,” Lingard said, according to TalkSport.“We have to concentrate one game at a time. We are going to have to play the big teams sooner or later, and if you want to be the best team in the world, you have got to beat the big teams.”“We are not really fussed what side (of the draw) we got chosen on,” Lingard added.
